Loyola men receive votes in Preseason Top 25 Poll
New Orleans, La. – For the first time in school history,
the Loyola University New Orleans men’s basketball team
received votes in the NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball
Coaches’ Top 25 Preseason Poll. The Wolfpack are coming
off their best season in 50 years, finishing with a record
of 19-11.
Loyola received 12 votes in the preseason poll, which ranks
them at 32nd place. Tougaloo, last year’s regular season
champs, was the only GCAC team inside the Top 25 at No. 21
with 117 votes. LSU-Shreveport came in at 26th with 54
votes, while Spring Hill rounded out the teams with one
vote.
The Wolfpack, who ranked as high as No. 23 last season,
bring back all five starters from last year, including
All-American junior forward Ryan Brock and All-GCAC senior
guard Sean Bennett. The team kicks off their season this
Friday, Oct. 30, at The Den against Carver Bible College at
7 p.m.
